Using centrifugal filtration, the MultiCyclone separates heavier dirt from the water and collects it in the clear sediment chamber. There are no moving parts and no filter media to replace, making it simple and economical to maintain.

Less Filter Maintenance

By removing a large portion of dirt before it reaches your sand or cartridge filter, the MultiCyclone can significantly reduce how often your main filter needs cleaning.

When installed before a sand filter, Waterco states it can reduce backwashing to as little as once per year in suitable domestic installations, potentially saving up to 7,000 litres of water annually.

For cartridge filters, it can also dramatically extend the time between cartridge cleans.

Installation

The Waterco MultiCyclone is installed as a pre-filter between the pool pump and the main cartridge or media filter.

The model should be selected to suit the filtration system flow rate, with the MultiCyclone 12 designed for lower-flow installations and the MultiCyclone 16 offering greater flow capacity.

The unit should be mounted securely in an upright position with sufficient access to the clear sediment chamber and purge valve for routine cleaning.

Correct plumbing size and water flow are important to achieve effective centrifugal separation.

Once sediment builds up in the clear chamber, the purge valve can be opened briefly to discharge the collected debris without backwashing the main filter.

Waterco’s current warranty schedule provides the following manufacturer warranty for the MultiCyclone:

Domestic applications: 3 years
Commercial applications: 1 year
Labour: Up to 12 months within Waterco’s applicable authorised service area

Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition to the manufacturer warranty.
